I have taken out the SSD from defective MacBook Air Early 2015

Is there some adapter that I can use to salvage the data using a USB connection?

This is what you'll need to get: OWC Envoy Pro Portable, Bus-Powered USB 3.0 Enclosure For Apple Flash SSDs (June 2013-Current Mac Models) You'll need to connect the adapter to another Mac system to access the files.
