Why does the trackpad only respond to a click in the bottom center?
I bought a used MacBook Pro 13" A1278. The trackpad responds fine as far as moving the pointer but will only click on something by tapping in the bottom center of the trackpad. I don't feel any swelling of the battery. I've tried the following things that others suggested:
-using a razor blade to go around the edges of the trackpad
-using alcohol around the edges of the trackpad
-holding down option, command, p, and r keys while starting the laptop
-pressing hard and holding all around the trackpad
-hitting the trackpad in various spots
Any ideas as to why this is happening? I'm not willing to open the shell of the laptop. I may just return it to the seller or use the Square Trade warranty I purchased. I thought I'd try this forum first to see if there could be an easy fix that I'm missing. Thanks.
Is this a good question?
