Installed lift kit and driverside brake cable is too short?

I have a 2001 EZGO golf cart. Went to install a 4" economy lift kit and when I went to lift the rear axle back into place, I was able to secure the passenger side springs, but the driver side wouldn't line up due to the brake cable being too short by 1"-2"? Any suggestions?
