What kind of lubricant can I use on the disc reading laser rails?

My device would play music and movies, but not games. I tore into it to replace the laser, which I have done. But the laser won't slide easily along the rails. I would like to lubricate them, and the spiraled piece as well, but I don't want to use the wrong lube and screw it up.

-Update-

I put it back together & tested it. Open tray error now. It takes the tray in, the disk spins for a second, then the laser makes a strange sound & everything stops.

Lubricating the rails won't help. Time to replace the drive.
