It just stops on the T-Mobile screen part of the start up

Try booting safe mode and see how that goes, if it boots you probably have a bad app that needs to be uninstalled to get the phone to boot:

Possible firmware corruption on the phone, you may need to reflash firmware on the phone:

Sometimes if that does not help you may need to also perform a factory reset / wipe data in recovery mode which will wipe all data on the phone.
