To replace the clip requires microsoldering . iIt may be easier to try to repair the clip if its not badly broke . the locking mechanism is held in place by two small nubs at each side of the clip that go into the side of the base . if the nubs arent broke off you should be able to get the clip to go back on . use a pair of tweezers and it may help to have a magnifing glass to see what your doing . If this brings no joy you can also try wedging a small piece of plastic into the joint to force the ribbon cables down onto the pins then taping everything in place . If however you want to solder on a new clip you may want to take it to someone who does this kind of work . Hope this helps

Do you know I could purchase the clip?

The black clip is what is missing. The terminals on the ribbon cable face upward so I would to put the shim (?) under it to make the terminals make contact.

Any ideas on what would be best to use?

What type of tape would you recommend ?

piece of plastic from a guitarpick or credit card will work you will need to see what works best just dont cover the pins , as for tape black electical tape will work or kapton tap can also be used but nothing conductive . As for places to get parts I use digikey.com ,AliExpress.com, dhgate.com Ebay and Amazon to fined what i need

I had the exact same problem, stuck some tape to bottom of lcd cable at the end so it made it fatter (so it lifted it up) this made contact now display is working

Yes I have to agree with the method of placing black insulation tape on the back of the main ribbon.

Ensure not to overlap the edges.

I used one piece on one tablet on another I had to double it up with two pieces Once screen is active hold the ribbon in place with some tape going across the battery to keep it in place.

I hadn't read this solution before reaching to the same conclusion today. I had to open the tablet as the LCD cable had become loose. During this process I broke the black plastic clip and then the LCD cable wasn't making proper contact. Just a bit of tape under the cable, some more tape over the battery to secure it and now it's all good again
