MacBook Pro 15” Early 2011 shuts down after Apple logo appears
So today I installed a new battery into my machine. Before I did this, the computer was working 100% fine. I had recently forced the Mac to use integrated graphics because the famous dedicated GPU failure happened to it, but after that, everything was totally normal and I could use it like I did before. When I put in the new battery that I just received shipped from Amazon, it booted up like normal to the desktop screen. Then about a minute later, it shut down. I started to smell a smoking smell, which was extremely concerning. I turned on the computer again, it booted to the Apple logo, a white screen, and then shut off again and did this on repeat. I know it’s not the hard drive because it’s brand new and it works fine on my other computer. I assumed it was logic board failure from a power surge in the battery (battery was brand new that shouldn’t happen! Very disappointed amazon!) but then I ran an Apple hardware test and it said there was nothing wrong with the machine. What should I do?
Is this a good question?
