Broken LCD. MacBook Pro 2017 mid. EMC 3163. Whole logicboard?

Hi IFixit,

Do I need to remove the whole logicboard to access the components necessary to replace the LCD on a mid-2017 MacBook Pro Touch?

Or will I be able to do the replacement simply attaching a few cables and screws to the bottom exposed logicboard if I buy an LCD assembly for the machine?

Thank you.

Sincerely, A tech repair person

The display can be removed from the chassis from the bottom. I've marked the cables in blue and the hinges pink

The section in light blue does not indicate how to get the secondary cables out from under the logicboard. Do I need to remove the entire logicboard to get access to that section when replacing the LCD? I bought a replacement LCD and there is a section of ribbons on two springs. I can't seem to get underneath it. It seems I have to unscrew all the screws by the fans, and logicboard screws just to lift the board and remove those ribbons from the old LCD. Am I missing something quicker?

I did remove the logic board. But I don't think it was needed, the ribbon cables connect to the bar (2 screws) and when you pull the display off the bar will be loose with the display.
