iPhone crashes while updating apps

Hi,

my iPhone 5 keeps crashing every time it updates apps from the app store. Smaller apps tend to update successfully more often than larger apps and also does updating apps after a fresh reboot seem to work better. But not always...

I already deactivated auto-updating of apps as quick remedy.

The problem exists approx. since one year and it definitely gets worse. First it crashed every now and then but now it nearly crashes on every app-update I trigger in the AppStore.

My iPhone 5 has 64GB memory with round about 6 GB free.

Crashing seems to appear more often, when memory is nearly full.

Has anyone an idea what could be the cause of this problem?

And how to fix it?

Maybe its a hardware issue? Bad sectors in the flash drive or the ram memory??

(Clearing the ram memory by holding the On/Off-Button and then the Home-Button seemed to help a bit in the beginning...)

Have you tried to Reset your Phone completely via iTunes?

And what iOS Version have you installed?

My iOS Version is 10.3.3 (afaik, the latest Version available for an iPhone 5).

I have not yet tried to reset my phone completely.

Do you think, that would help?

Reset completely means:

1. Backup via iTunes

2. Reset factory defaults (with deletion of all data)

3. Restore backup
