My iPhone dies/turns off shortly after unplugging it from the charger.

My iphone 6s recently started doing this. It only works when plugged into the charger and when unplugged it turns off shortly afterwards . I'm thinking it's something to do with the battery but I'm not exactly smart enough to know any of this yet. My phone has had water damage and has been repaired for a broken screen. The screen is also a little glitchy like it looks like stripes of color from the image appearing. Help plz.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

mine shuts off shortly after unplugged but ive never had water damage or a screen repair . no colors show either . the phones pretty much new ( 2-3 months ive had it ) and i haven’t had anything done to it . the only thing i can think of is the battery or if the little crack at the bottom is doing anything .

I had the same issue with an iPhone 5, this seems to be fairly common, unfortunately. I've read a lot about this online and I don't agree with the explanations for the simple reason that when I restore it to 'new' it works perfectly and then the problem starts again. I had the battery changed and it worked ok, but just for a while. I thought that maybe it's the lightning dock (as many people have advised) but then I thought, if the dock has a physical problem why would it work ok and then die again? Some have suggested a damage to the logical board. When I took it to a repair shop (not Apple) to replace the battery, the guy said he cleaned the whole thing, nothing wrong with it. I have restored it to 'new', don't restore it with a backup. I've set the battery to 'saving mode' and I have deleted a number of apps that could be causing software incompatibility with iOS 10.3.4 (the last one available for iPhone 5). It's working perfectly again and the battery life is great.

If the logic board has been cleaned properly from liquid damage repair then the screen and battery needs to be replaced.
