whirlpool model wfw9151yw00 bearing change

I think I may need to change the bearing. While spinning there is a grinding and high pitch squealing noise. Also noticed there were only three shocks installed.

I agree I probably need to replace the shock absorbents but I'm not sure if that alone will stop the shrieking noise when it's spinning on the spin cycle. There is no movement in the drum no water leaking from the bearing but when i spin the drum by hand there is a faint noise. I really don't want to replace the bearing but I think I may have too. I wish whirlpool would take responsibility for the what seems to be a missing shock absorber.

I have this model, and there are only 3 shocks. Two on the left and one on the right rear. If there were a shock on the front right it would interfere with the drain hose and pump.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer part that includes the bearings - W10285625 (rear outer tub) is no longer available. You can order a 3rd party replacement bearing kit (https://www.replacementkits.com/products...), but it requires removing and splitting the tub apart to replace the bearings and seal. Depending on your repair skills and/or how badly you need to fix this, it may be easier to buy a new washer.
