Keyboard doesn't work but trackpad and USB do; will new topcase solve?

So, I spilled coffee on the keyboard of my Macbook (Core 2 Duo, mid-2007). After cleanup/dry off, the keyboard is totally unresponsive, yet the trackpad and usb ports are working fine. Other than a dead keyboard, there don't seem to be any problems. What's going on here? Is the best solution to replace the entire topcase? Thanks!

Here's a very good set of answers to this question. Your ability to replace just the keyboard is very dependent on which MacBook Core 2 Duo you have, most require replacement of the entire top case, I have yet to see one with a replaceable keyboard. Removal of just the keyboard not the whole top case?
