Battery Replacement Worked but iPod won't play

I’ve replaced the battery on my IPod 5th Gen Classic . I can see it has charged but I can’t get the touch wheel to work or music to play. Have watched many videos and did not seem to disturb the hard drive during battery replacemnt. Have put it back together apple logo lights up initially and then the charging icon shows, and home screen lights up.

Answer this question I have this problem too

@thegirlfromnj "I can’t get the touch wheel to work" you did not tell us if it worked before. Do check to make sure all cables are properly seated and connected. Follow [http://this video] to place your iPod into diagnostics mode and see what the tests tell you. It is possible that your touch wheel has failed. Use these guides iPod 5th Generation (Video) to work on your iPod.

Thank you very much! Yes, everything worked before but the battery wouldn't hold a charge. I'll check out the suggestions you've made.
