screen very dim and blinking on and off sound is ok
I just acquired this same model of TV from my father with the exact same issue, I can post some more pictures of it but I've never done any sort of repairs on electronics like this before and have no idea of what I'm doing with it honestly. I have already picked up a toolkit for working with electronics though and have other tools handy to hopefully complete the task at hand, just no idea of where to begin. @oldturkey03

@oldturkey03 I've gotten a multimeter now and hopefully the rest of the tools I was missing to be able to fix this tv. I've got it opened up now so I can try to fix whatever's wrong with it.

@rizvanwhat so your TV is a Sharp 42" LCD TV Model LC-42LB261U Rev A ? what are the issues with it? One of the important tools to have is a multimeter....

The screen blinks in and out and is very dim while it is on, and the sound comes through fine at the same time. I do need to pick up a multimeter though, that's hopefully the only thing I'm lacking to be able to repair the tv.
