iPhone 6 only charges while on.

If the battery ever drops to 0% and turns off it cant be turned on or charged. I have to take the battery out boost it then put it in and turn it on, where it will charge just fine. Confirmed issue on multiple batteries.

Could this be Tigris or Tristar IC?

I do motherboard repair all the time so microsoldering is an option I just want 2nd and 3rd opinions before I go replacing IC's.

Thanks.

No, tried second charge port same on multiple chargers.

Hmm... Maybe try a battery replacement then.

WAIT....I see you already tried those....Hmm...A lot of people at my school have a similar issue with their chromebooks. I can ask one of the technical people there and see if they have a better answer.

Tristar chip needs replacing.

If you want you can unplug battery then plug in charger, if it doesn't show apple logo then Tristar is bad.

In some extreme cases you may even need to change charger port after tristar replacement as they can go faulty at the same time.
