2008 MacBook Pro 15" Not Charging/Turning On - Replaced Magsafe

I picked up a 2008 MAcBook Pro 15" today from our local Apple Certified Shop that the previous owners couldn't afford to fix. It was diagnosed with a bad magsafe board and they were quoted almost $400. Since the part is easy and cheap to get I purchased it from them as I have an identical 2008 2.4 15" MacBook that has a working magsafe just no screen.

I replaced the magsafe board from the working model. It had the exact safe part numbers and looked the exact same. I have also replaced many logic boards in this and similar models so I know I did that correctly.

When I plugged it in to power up the light on the charger is a very dim green like it was before I replaced it. Won't turn on or any response at all. Tried SMC reset to no avail.

Any ideas or suggestions before I stick it in the oven and try to reflow the solder? I have even had dead logic boards that when plugged in have a bright light on the charger so I'm just praying it isn't the logic board that is bad and I do not know why the Apple Certified dealer diagnosed it as a bad magsafe, I'm out a fair bit of $$$ because of this...

Thanks!

Will be a logic board issue if still a dim green light with a known good DC port and the battery disconnected (or a good battery). Don't bother "reflowing" in the oven; this is unlikely to solve your issue (will just make it worse) and if it does, it will not last. The issue will be caused by a failed component on the logic board or previous liquid damage.

This can be fixed, but it is up to you whether it is something you will attempt. Definitely a logic board issue however, if it has a dim green light with everything else disconnected
