Samsung TV - HLT5689SX/XAA - Red/Pink Tint

Greetings,

I have an older Samsung tv (I think it is a projection(?) tv). A couple of weeks ago we were watching a game and this happened: (a) The screen went black for a few seconds, (b) The screen went back to normal for a few seconds, (c) The screen returned to black for a few seconds, (d) The screen resumed but now has an awful, eye-straining pink or red tint.

I disconnected the cable and called up an antenna-based channel. Same problem.

I tried a DVD. Same problem.

I have these questions:

1. Which part needs to be replaced?

2. Where, in the tangled mess of wires, boards, and "stuff" inside this tv, will I find the part that needs replacing?
