Question about Face-ID and replacing the screen.

Hi there, I'd like an answer from someone who has actually replaced the iPhone X screen.

There are some rumours that Face-ID will stop working when you replace just the display, and some deny it.

How was the repair and did Face-ID stop working?

If you only replace the SCREEN(don't replace the sensor flex cable), the Face ID will still work. if you replace the sensor flex cable, the Face ID will fail. More about the Face ID repair you can visit here:Why iPhone X Face ID not work after repairing

If you replace iPhone 8, 8 plus or X screen you need to copy the firmware data of the original screen into the new screen. The needed tool is under development. I saw some working versions, what are tested and working with IOS 11.4 and 12.0 Beta. The screen data can be cloned only to OEM screens for now.

Afte the copy of the data, the light sensor works well again.
