EPSON printer WF-3640 touch screen is unreponsive & won't power down

EPSON printer WF-3640 touch screen is unreponsive & won't power down... I've tried holding down the power button, as well as power + STOP button, and cannot turn it off. Right before this happened, I had cleaned the print heads to fix printing issues.

Ummm, have you tried pulling the power plug and restarting it?

I tried this and it did not solve the problem.

Try browser interface and see if it is alive. If so you can perhaps recover the device by doing a firmware update... It worked for me at one point last year. You have to download the most recent firmware update to a PC first from Epson web site. Windows, Linux or Mac will work for this.
