iPhone 6s battery smell

When I was replacing the battery of my iPhone 6s the adhesive strips broke. So as the ifixit guide suggests I tried to use dental floss along with the tools in the kit to pry it out. I thought I almost had it when I started smelling something coming from the battery, at this point I stopped immediately and placed it in the other room. What should I do?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Either get someone to remove the battery for you or you will have to end up prying it out.

Hi

Sorry to ask did u disconnect battery from motherhood.

If not disconnect battery first.

Remove Lcd from phone.

Now take some plastic card like playing card and put it under battery from left side of phone and slide it slow under the battery. And don’t use any metal thing to take out battery.

In this way u can remove battery safely.

Always use safety gears.

If still not confident better to go to some repair store.

I am mostly concerned about the smell

I think smell is due to when to cut outer black layer of battery.

Don’t try to take battery with any metal thing. Remove it with plastic playing card.

Again if you really not confident better to go to repair store.

Regards

Lol when I read the question I was like 'Wait why are you smelling the battery?' XD

Anyway, the battery might be corroded or leaking.

use a hot air in the back of the iphone (not very hot) the glue under the battery will be more elastic and you can remove it without problem

60°C / 140°F to be clear. 80C is okay too if it's not hot enough depending on how hot it is in your area.
