Firmware Restore iMac 8,1

I have an imac model A1422 EMC 2210 which makes the sounds of S.O.S. three fast beeps 3 slow 3 fast ... I was reading in forums of Apple and this error is solved with the Firmware Restoration CD, but it is by models, and in no download appears the model iMac 8,1. Has anyone had this problem? could work with other firmware?, I tried with version 1.7 and 1.6 and does not do anything the iMac

You have a bit of a Catch22 problem! You need a clean image of the EFI so if you had backed it up you could have reprogramed it to the chip if you had the right gear. But of course you didn't (and I don't either). Firmware is constantly being updated so it becomes hard to manage it all.

So what to do? As it turns out there are a few people out there that have your back! But, you'll need to desolder the EFI chip and replace it with a fresh one with the working firmware.

You'll need to supply them your systems specs and serial number so it can be programed in. Then once you get the chip desolder the old one and put the replacement in. The outfit I had used years ago is no more but @oldturkey03 found this one Bios Chip Store
