Can't hear other person, Other person also can't hear me?

I have an iPhone 6. Whenever I make a call, the other person can answer it and connect, but they can't hear me or it's very muffled and I can't hear them.

Steps I have taken:

-Cleaned out headphone jack

-Factory reset and iOS update

-Hard Reset

-DFU Mode Reset

-Recorded a voice memo, video with front camera, video with rear camera and can hear perfectly fine with each

-Checked "Do Not Disturb" mode

-Turned on Hearing Aid Assistance

-Checked button above volume

Exactly what is happening is that I will make a call, there will be no "dial tone sound" while the call is being made, and I can't get any audio once the call is answered. The other person cannot hear me at all.

I have no idea what to do. Please help!

I’m having issue with my iPhone I can’t hear anything and no one can hear me

by

I’m having this same issue. I’m wondering, at this point, if I should just get a new phone (which is what Apple would love to hear I’m sure). Did you ever get this issue fixed or did you get a new phone?

My phone actually does work perfectly like every other day and also when I connect to my Bluetooth in my car it works through the speakers so I’m hesitant to just give up on it.

Any other suggestions besides the above would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Looks like we gotta give up. Thinking bout switching to galaxy or something. iPhone 7plus been tweaking like crazy. If i turn My phone off i have To put it in DFU mode to turn it back on and let it set on by itself for 15 minutes. I can Use everything but Siri and make a phone call

First of all try resetting all settings in the settings app.

I recommend starting off with a restore of the iPhone via iTunes.

Do backup your iPhone via iTunes first before restoring as it will wipe data on the phone.

This sometimes fixes weird audio issues like this.

I tried factory resetting once more and I got through with a call, but it was making a static noise to the recipient of my call and occasionally in my speaker. Now it is acting the same way it did. I cannot hear anything during a call, not even a dial tone.

Every time I reset, I can get one call to go through, which works for about 10 seconds and shortly after starts to make static/crackling noises from the speaker when the other person tries to talk.

Sounds like audio chip gone bad on the phone.

You may be able to find someone in your area that replaces this chip.

I get this problem too - it just started to happen within the last three or four weeks and I have moved to a new location so I am wondering if it has something to do with that. I shut it down and restart it and that always fixes it but would love to not have to do that. Perhaps the next update will address it.
