HP pavilion dv5t-1000 wifi switch does not come on.

updated MOBO after spill to a discrete graphics nvidia geforce 9600m gt. I formatted the original hd, after I copied the recovery partition but it was corrupt. I started the drive with my Vista Ultimate upgrade disc. After it took it reverted b back to the original vista home premium. The wifi switch didn't work. I uninstalled The driver and downloaded the driver on a sd card and installed it from braudcom. No go. Ordered the recovery discs from HP. installed and no go. Sent the MOBO back and it is good. I'm lost now. They will send it back. They said it was a software issue. So back to square one.

Maybe you've checked this before but just making sure, depending on the model, check the fn + f1-f12 keys and spot the key with a small antenna and make sure it's on, asides from the physical button. Good luck

If you talking about the wifi switch above the keyboard ensure you don't have wireless (or the device) disabled in the control panel or hardware control.

Other than the obvious checking for the wifi switch from being in the ON position i am relevantly familiar with this model. Having one for a couple of years i would suggest if your getting a replacement MOBO just wait for it too come in the mail. If that happens to still be unsuccessful (Which i highly doubt) Try upgrading to Windows 7. W7 is know to have what vista doesn't, Better compatibility with native drivers to different devices and doesn't degrade your PC's Power.
