Touch ID not working after replacing the link cable

a few days ago when i was replacing my phone screen the home button flex cable broke (the one that connects the home button to the mother not the actual home button, the home button is still original) and now my touch id wont work after installing it, my home button works fine for everything other that touch id still though, does anyone know why it wouldn't work, I bought the iPhone 6 Home Button Link Cable (the used OEM one) thanks, ben

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

The thing is, the paired part is on the cable itself. Not the button.

I thought it was on the home button and that cable that's attached to it, not the connector from there to the motherboard

I added a link. Gotta love Apple and their anti-repair tactics... Why Apple...

Isn't it clear that he said that he broke the home button extension cable that comes behind the metal plate?

It could easily just be a defective replacement part for the home button extension cable metal plate that goes behind the screen.

I'm pretty sure he said he did not physically damage the home button itself in any way.
