Won't boot after repair

Replaced the hard drive re-formatted it and got it booted up

Still had noise-replace the fan assembly and DC-in board (broke one while removing).

Re-assembled and no boot

no chine, no screen, no hard drive spinning, no nothing

tried: pulled apart and checked all of the connections

removed battery to boot

reset PMU, tried target disk mode. boot from external hd, boot from cd, connected external monitor

only responses -superdrive spins sometimes, caps light works, ac adapter green

not sure what to do next?? what did I break??? Everything looked fine and in its' place. TIA

Chosen Solution

If it was running before you replaced the fan and DC-in board and you replaced the DC-in board, then look to the change you made. Recheck your installation of the DC-IN port, test it with a multimeter. If the old port will work at all, give it a try. Next check your keyboard connection to the logic board, you may not be getting a start signal.

Here's a multimeter that will do. First thing I would do is check your model number vs the part number for that machine and what you received. Digital Multimeter
