How to switch off red LED during video recording in Nokia N8?

During Video recording the red LED on the side of the flash in Nokia N8 lights up which is annoying if you are facing the camera.

There is no option to disable the red LED. How should I disable it

I believe that this is done through the settings menu. Go to Camera Settings and Turn of the Macro Option. I beleive that your setting allow you to turn it to automatic, this would turn the LED on during darkness only. Here is a great place to learn more about your N8. Good Luck to you...

I'm pretty sure thats so people know you are recording so you are not recording against their will. My Nokia N900 has the same thing.

As far as i know that option is disabled in some countries for privacy protection reasons. If you dont have the turn off option in the menu you simply cant do it. Same goes for the "click" sound when you take a picture.

record a video in close-up mode the red led will not light up, if it still does then zoom in and zoom out 2 or three times it will turn off.

turn on camera with close-up , then start recording, close the obiectiv with you finger and turn max zoom then normal zoom . At my n8 it works every time
