What is the best possible video card I can put in my iMac

I am considering upgrading my RAM, CPU, and video card. however i am not sure which video card to buy. any ideas which is the best one that fits please? thanks

Options

Apple had two versions of MXM boards for your system:

  • ATI Radeon HD 4670 (256MB) - P/N 661-5539
  • ATI Radeon HD 5670 (512MB) - P/N 661-5539

I would stick to one of these.

Is it possible to go higher than 1Gb?

Your system really can't support anything larger than the 512 GB board.

The 2011 27" iMac offered both a 1 &2 GB board as it needs a larger heat sink. It would be cheaper to get the 27" model with it than upgrading your system.
