Copper tape has been ripped

After prying apart the iPod Touch (4th gen), the copper tape was ripped in half. Is there a way to fix this, or are we doomed?

The copper tape has a function as an EMI shield, meaning it helps isolate signals away from the WIFI antenna. I would try to patch it together as good as you can. Maybe take off the part on the mid plane and move it so that you can stick part of it to the part on the camera shield. True, the Touch 4g works without the copper tape but it has a function and putting it back together as good as you can ensures you have done what is possible to get a good WIFI signal.

- Update: the copper tape also has a heat reduction feature trying to distribute heat.

what can i use to patch the copper tape up?

Just lift up one part of the copper tape and put it closer so it overlaps the other part. It only needs contact. The copper tape is only for distributing heat.

the ipod touch 4g really doesn't need the copper tape and it has been proven by all the copper being removed
