My PS Vita won't take a charge at all the PS light won't come on?

I plugged my PS Vita in and it won't charge the PS light won't come on and I have checked the charger it is good it's brand new any Ideas on what I can do.

Options

You might need to replace the battery. Mine did something similar. Let me know if you need one and I can show you an eBay link.
