Not working display, what should I replace Display Data Cable or LCD?

Hi guys, my display is not working anymore, the mac is working absolutely fine with an external screen, but I dont know what should replace the Display Datqa Cable or the LCD. thanks

What does the flashlight test show you? Take a flashlight hold it on the screen at a sharp angle (about 20 degrees) are you able to see the faint image of the desktop and the icons? If you do the issue is the backlight circuit on the logic board Vs the display.

There is not really a way of telling which it is so I would start by replacing the Display Data Cable and then if that doesn't work then replace the more expensive LCD.
