Just had the same problem w/samsung 6. The tech at verizon found the problem was with the samsung photo app. It just needed updated. Snappin' again!

If I update the app, will I lose my pictures and will it the update cost anything on my plan?

No, apps on your phone have nothing to do with your calling plan.

Chosen Solution

Try these 3 things:

1) Settings --> applications --> Camera

• Force stop

• Clear Data

• Restart the phone.

2) Settings --> applications --> Gallery

• Force stop

• Clear Data

• Restart the phone.

Download from the Google Play Store the following alternate apps (which are much better anyway).

• Open Camera App (better than stock camera app)

• Google Photos (replaces gallery)

When I click on uninstall updates, the msg pops up that All data will be lost. Does this mean that all my photos will be gone if I click on uninstall updates? Please help.

by

If you uninstall updates on the App only, you should not lose the photos, you will lose settings in the app, and the app's updates only.

by

Worked perfectly on my note 5, all the blanks are filled back with the missing photos.

by

I had the same problem with pictures not loadng. I went into Gallery App and uninstalled updates and i got all my pictures back. They were showing up blank and black.

I tried the first 2 options - did not work. I also tried option 3 and another handful gallery apps - all inferior (advertisements, poor edit, poor display options, no move function) compared to Galaxy built-in. Last resort i did this:

Settings > Applications

- pick Gallery app

- memory, click 3dots at top right corner

- uninstall updates, revert to factory version

All blank/black photos reappeared.

This shows there is nothing wrong with our internal storage (or SD card). Neither are files corrupted. Problem lies with bugs in the new gallery software update.
