Hello, just had the same problem. The Battery is moved to the left side of the board. It is above the power connector under the metal plate. I was able to lift the metal (there are some screws on the back) and replace it without need to completely remove the metal. A bit fiddly. Had to replace the laser too. And just found out you have to remove the ESD Solderpoint so that the laser works. Thougt it was broken.

Hey, I'm trying to fix a PS2 Slim Pink, 77002, I was looking for a picture of this model to check if a few these are meant to be missing or not, yours looks like this model, could I get some closer pics of the little components near the AV port and that component just right of the lid switch at the back? The issue this PS2 Slim has is the green light immediately goes back to red, I've cleaned out this console, it did have what I believe was cockroach $@$*, not may or any cockroaches though, maybe the shell of one idk

Honestly they must have moved it in your revision of the board. That or moved it onboard. I'd proceed with caution and remove the motherboard to check for different placements. That is truly strange though.

Yes, but the metalic protection seems locked and I don't have tools for unlock it and lock again.

Marc, thanks for your notes. It worked for me. Somehow, it is easier once you know where it is. Previous battery encapsulated version with jack seems annoying to me when it is just a CR2032 batt.
