Tap Water Spilled...Need to Be Cleaned or Just Dried?

Hello,

I accidentally got tap water on my computer. I immediately turned it off and gave it some time to dry. When I went to turn it back on though it wouldn’t start up. I took it to an Apple authorized repair place and they said water damage we’ll need to send it out to Apple and it’ll be $1500. I simply don’t have $1500 so I took it home. Gave it more time to dry. Powered it on and this time it started all the way up then turned off. I assume at this point there’s still some water in it (don’t ask me why the tech didn’t fully dry the inside out when he had it open...as far as I can tell he literally opened it, saw some water, closed it and said Apple has to deal with it). I realize I should have waited longer before turning it back on. At this point I’m alternating it between sitting open with the keyboard face down and at an angle with a fan running air through the vents. I’m waiting for a pentalobe screwdriver to arrive tomorrow (have some at home but I’m at school) and I’ll then open it up and investigate myself/fully dry it out. I’m hoping it’ll start back up and nothing is truly wrong (otherwise I’ll be buying a new laptop that’s in my price range and not getting this one repaired lol)...just that it wasn’t fully dry hence the issues.

Two questions...

1. Once I open it, how long should I wait to try powering it up again? As long as there’s no visible moisture am I good to try starting it up? Or should i run a fan over it with the back off regardless?

2. Should I be worried about corrosion with tap water? I know with soda, coffee, beer, etc cleaning the logic board is a must following a spill. It seems there’s mixed opinions on tap water. Should I get alcohol and clean it or just let it be?

Thank you!
