Yellowish Horizontal line on right corner of screen

Hello, so i recently noticed that when i leave my macbook pro on for a while this white or yellowish horizontal line seems to appear on the right top hand corner and it seems like it leaves the magnifying glass icon and time icons blemish... can anyone help with this and guide me to what might be the problem? Thanks... BTW it does go away after i shut off the laptop over night but does come back if i leave it on for hours.

I Dont have an external monitor connected to it but it only happens when i leave the finder screen overlapping any program i use ... (for example look at the images

if i leave it like that for hours then the horizontal lines stays and as well as the icons from the status bar stay as a trace. But like last night i just left the software i was using as a main screen then the horizontal lines never appeared. Dont know if i explain myself or you guys understand me

@eddie0521 it is not normal but possibly part of your gate drivers or TAB that is starting to fail. With the cost and work involved to fix this, I'd wait until it gets a whole lot worse.

What does the external monitor show when you plug it in?

If it only shows up on the internal display we know the issue is within it. Then its a matter of either leaving it alone or replacing the display assembly.

Your second image implies a graphics type of issue. What happens when you boot up under Safe Mode?

Havent tried. But did a apple hardware test last night amd everything was fine, no issues found

AHT is limited to the core logic. It won't test the internal displays image or the discreet video output. The best way to think this is inner-world Vs outer-world. AHT diagnostics won't test outer-world devices.

Using Safe Mode only enables the Intel graphics services.

OK so on safe mode and saw a bit of the screen distorted with the trace of the icon magnifying glass and time ... anything to check while im on safe mode?

@eddie0521 what you have here is a bad display. Both errors are indicative of this. The 1st one is possibly related to your gate drivers and the 2nd one shows what is called Image Persistence (not permanent). The term burn-in is reserved for CRT's that would burn a lasting image into the phosphorus layer of the CRT (always permanent). Your display uses totally different technology to produce and maintain an image.
