How do I save my data from the ssd after water damage

Hello,

i spilled water over my MacBook Pro. I tried to save it buy cleaning it with alcohol but it did not work at all. Now i just want to save my data but found no way until now. The type or name of the SSD is MF840DA.

But i found no adapter where i can put it in and read it.

First i put it in a "normal" converter-box. Then i tried it with an PCI Express interface windows and linux but i did not work. The windows machine could see, that there is something connected, but said it could not initialize it.

So if there is ANY way to buy somewhere an interface with which i can read the SSD card i would be soo thankful for a link where to buy it. And i would be very thankful for any advice about why my attempts were not successful and about something that could help me to find a solution.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

You're in luck! OWC offers a USB case for the blade SSD: OWC Envoy Pro - Portable, Bus-Powered USB 3.0 Enclosure. For Apple Flash SSDs (June 2013-Current Mac Models)

Thank you. Luckily i am at a friends who has exactly this thing. He told me, he tried this also but it does not work because there seems to have been a change in technology in 2015 so that this thing does not work with SSD cards from Mac Models of 2015.

Hold On! OWC has a few different models for the different SSD's Apple has used. Your friends unit maybe for a different SSD, review the link to see. I have three different units for the different systems I service.

Its also possible your SSD still needs some cleaning or sadly not working ;-{

Hmm, i checked the link again. My model is explicitly listed but it is not working as i wrote earlier. It can not initialize the SSD card. I will try it again with the SSD of the MacBook Air 2014. If that will work i fear i have no other choice than to wait until i meet someone with the same MacBookPro who would allow me to put my SSD card in.

I was speaking about your friends Envoy unit is it the same one? Compare the P/N's.
