Fujifilm camera isn’t working

When ever I turn on my camera the light on the dial to change the light settings isn’t working. Whenever I click the button to take a picture, it doesn’t take the a picture eaither. I know that the batteries are good because I’ve only used this camera twice and this is my third time using it and it doesn’t make sense. I bought film thinking it would work, but it doesn’t even work. The number of the film didn’t even change either. The only thing that works in the red light next to the part you look through. Please someone answer, I really need help.
