I have vertical colored lines when I boot up. I had white screen, then replaced the logic board, but now I've got vertical lines.

GPU stands for: Graphic Processor Unit. Technically just the raw chip.

Often we use the term GPU Board, GPU Card or Video Card to describe the full assembly

What the GPU does, is it renders all the stuff. Or, it turns the computers electrical signals into a visual that can be seen on the screen.

So its like

COMPUTER SIGNALS --> GPU --> DISPLAY

A GPU turns Computer signals into signals a display can recognize and display.

why am I including the source? I'm not a sponsor or anything. I don't want to get called out for accidentally infringing copyright again. Also that website is sketchy and gives you Microsoft support scams. Don't go there.
