Audio in my MacBook Air not Working

My audio in my MacBook Air Late 2010 13" is not working. Everything else works fine like the keyboard and the screen. Turning the computer off and plugging in a headphone and taking it out multiple times fixes the problem but it comes back at random. I was thinking of replacing the IO Board to fix this which I think I can handle given I've taken apart other non-Apple laptops which still require caution when doing repairs on them. Would that fix my problem or would it still come back?

You've got the right idea! The I/O board is where the headphone jack is located so if the jack is bad then that will fix it! It also has the audio DAC chip so you'll also be replacing it. So I don't see any other possibilities.

Go for it! Its an easy fix. MacBook Air 13" Late 2010 I/O Board Replacement and here's the part: MacBook Air 13" (Late 2010) I/O Board

I guess I should replace the IO Board then. I just hope my experience with Windows laptops shall be enough. Thanks for giving me assurance.

Update: my USB Port next to the headphone jack stopped working. I guess replacing the IO Board is now more urgent for me
