Magsafe led blinking on Thunderbolt display

Hi all,

My Macbook Air no longer charges when connected to my Thunderbolt display.

The led on the magsafe connector is blinking fast (green).

Question: what could be the problem?

Tried: cleaning the connectors / reset PRAM / reset SMC / disconnect power for long period (hours).

All the best from Holland,

Pieter

We don't have a cord or power supply replacement guide. If the cord looks OK I would suspect the power supply is having problems. Here is the IFIXIT teardown which can help guide you Apple Thunderbolt Display Teardown and here's a good guide which willl get you in Apple Thunderbolt Display EMI Filter Replacement

Hi Dan,

Many thanks for your answers. The cord looks OK.

The screen is fully functional. Would't there be more problems if the power supply is failing?

All the best,

Pieter

The power supply offers multiple power feeds so the MagSafe feed have a problem unlike the other feeds.

Hi Pieter,

I'm having a similar problem. Did you ever replace the power supply and did that fix your problem?

Thanks,

Viktor
