What would cause my 2003 dodge caravan to blowing only cold air?

I have a 2003 dodge caravan that does not overheat or leak prestone anywhere! But all it will blow is cold air! We had it to the garage and had new thermostat and housing put on heater core is fine and had it flushed out in case there was a blockage. We got heat for maybe 5 mins then right back to cold ! But that was it! And this all seemed to happen after we replaced the battery. Can anyone give me any ideas please on what may be the problem.

You have an air pocket in the cooling system If you have a 3.3 this is a common problem . Get yourself a funnel that fits the rad cap tight so you can put extra coolant in the system then lift the front end of the van to help bleed out the air and warm the motor up till the thermostat opens squeezing the heater hose help move the coolant around . Watch for air bubbles in the funnel and when they stop remove the funnel and put the cap on . you should be good. This video will help
