iPhone 5s won't boot, keeps rebooting with Apple logo displayed.

i suspect the home button or touchID cables are causing a short. The touchID cable disconnected from the front screen when the screen was opened. Do i need a replacement touchID cable? I have been unable to do any recovery, DFU boot, etc. i let it charge for an hour before beginning troubleshooting.

Do you mean that the home button got ripped from the screen?

If this is the case then you will need a replacement home button for the home button to work again, note that touch ID will not work as any other home buttons that are used on the iPhone need to be paired up with the logic board again which apple will only do.

For the boot loop issue, that is not caused by the home button being unplugged.

I suspect either the battery is faulty which would mean it not being recognised or the tristar chip gone bad.

The actual home button stayed attached but the TouchID cable (the only cable that attaches at the bottom of the front display screen) disconnected from the front display screen. normally, the TouchID cable should be disconnected from the base / back screen, but in my case, the front screen opened so quickly the cable came loose. now i put the old battery back in and it still loops the apple logo continously with a red screen every 3-4 loops.

Okay, you will most likely need to replace the front camera ribbon cable assembly as that would cause the red screen issue, to confirm this unplug the home button cable and front camera cable but keep the display cables plugged in.

Make sure you have the battery unplugged when you unplug or plug the screen cables.

If it can boot up with the front camera cable unplugged, you need to replace that.

For the home button you will need to replace the home button which means you will not have touch ID as any other home buttons used will not allow Touch ID to work (as apple can only pair up the home buttons with the logic board).
