Can I save my drone once it has gone be submerged in water?

I was flying my drone over a pond, the drone’s battery was low. I hovered it over the water and it decided to land. In the pond. Is there any way to save it??

Hi @celticfox ,

First do not turn on the drone.

Then you need to remove the battery as soon as possible to prevent further damage that may be caused by the moisture in the drone being in contact with the electronics and a power source. (water is a conductor of electricity and therefore there may be damaging current flow through components that was not catered for in the design of the circuit)

You need to thoroughly clean all the components using IPA 99%+ (Isopropyl Alcohol - available at most electronics parts stores) to remove all traces of moisture and corrosion. Do not use "rubbing alcohol" as this is usually <70% IPA and may contain scents and therefore is not as effective. If you have to use it, check the label.
