Why did my replacement battery die after going to 0%?

My iphone 6s quit recharging, so I replaced the battery. After three days of better, but not great, battery life I drained the phone to 0% to calibrate it, it could not be woken up. No charging icons or anything. Should I check battery contacts, or any other part of the internals?

If the original battery would refuse to charge after going flat and the new one did the same thing, it's the U2 Tristar charging IC chip on the logic board that needs to be replaced.

Only people that do micro-soldering can replace that.

You can quickly diagnose charging IC by unplugging the battery then plugging the charger in.

If you get apple logo, charging IC is OK, if you do not get apple logo the charging IC is bad and needs to be replaced.
