Non-working/non-reading USB Port. Any ideas?

One of my USB's on my mac had a micro usb stick (mouse) stuck inside, so I foolishly tried to remove it with pliers. Some of it came out, the rest is still kinda inside, so that port is ruined. My other USB port is fine though, but it doesn't read anything. When I plug something into it, nothing comes up on the computer, or what I plugged into it (my iPhone for example.) Any ideas?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

It sounds like the damaged port is interfering with the signaling.

You'll need to find someone who can either finish removing the plug if its still present and/or fix the ports circuitry. At worst, you may need a new logic board.
