Power Button has lost its Spring

Hi,

I have an Iphone 3g. The power button seems to have lost its spring and I have to push firmly for it to operate. I have opened it up following the instructions on the site and removed the power button.

My question is. Does the power button have a spring on it? I cant seem to see what pushes it back up. Would this be the cause. Tried to look at lots of images of the power button but cant see if they have a spring attached to them. I would have thought if something broke off it would still be there but cant see anything.

Was going to buy a new one but wanted to make sure that was the issue first.

The power button cable still clicks.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I would just replace the switch. There is one here and to install it you can follow these instructions. Good Luck to you and your phone.
