The aluminum PowerBook G4 was released by Apple to replace the previous titanium-body model. The 12" and 17" versions debutted in January 2003 with the 15" version following in September of that year.

Power Supply tip broke off inside the female plug

Dog knocked G4 off table. Power cord was connected and the tip broke off inside the female connector inside the G4. How do I disassemble and repair?

After you open your machine, remove the DC-IN port. The middle bar on the back of the unit can be pulled out slightly. After doing so, most of the time the tip can be dislodged and removed with tweezers or very small needle nose pliers. I use a small hemostat. If you give us exactly which Book you have we can lead you to the specific instructions on how to open your Book. Click on the "Devices" box to the right of this box to find your correct Book.
