installed 320GB PowerBook Hard Drive Western Digital Upgrade

I installed new hard drive on my powerbook g4. When I try to install the MacOSX it doesn't see the hard drive. I clicked on the utility and the hard drive shows up. what do I do?

Format the drive using Disk Utilities on your system installation disk. Mac OS extended
