“Z” key going crazy even after keyboard replacement

My MacBook Air’s “z” key acts like it’s stuck or being held down, basically inserting z’s whenever I try to type anything. BUT it’s not constant, and I can sometimes get a few minutes of typing in before it starts going crazy. So I finally replaced the keyboard altogether, and it was fine for a few hours and then started doing the same thing. Desperate here...

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

have you tried scrubbing the connector in an isopropyl bath?

No I haven’t - you mean the little connector from the trackpad?

Try Changing the keyboard to a Canadian layout then switch it back to US and see if it helps.

This is awesome! Thanks so much. It was driving me crazy - almost making my Mac unusable. I swapped from Australian to British - and look at me typing perfectly back on the Australian keyboard. Brilliant. BTW, mine was the Z key as well. So strange.
