Screen switches off more than 90 deg
The screen switches off and lights on again after few seconds.
Do i need to reset SMC?
This is an A1181 plastic MacBook.

This is a symptom of a faulty inverter cable that can be skinned in the macbook display left hinge. Don't wait to replace the cable cause there's a possibility of damaging the logic board if the cable shorts in the hinge.

I take it this happens when moving the screen. When it's off can you dimly see the desktop?
