Workforce 30 prints every other page if quality is set to image & text

It won't let me change the model, but I actually have a workforce 30. Right after I changed a cartridge, it started a new problem. If I print in "image & text" quality, it will only print every other page. For example, if I have a 10 page document, it will print pages 1,3,5, etc. It will act like it's printing normally, but then the page comes out blank, or with ever so the slightest faded ink. on the first couple lines. The nozzel check print pattern comes out perfect just about. If I select text print quality, it will print every page just fine. It seems like a software problem to me, but I can't get it to uninstall the printer driver or install/repair a new driver. I'll also add that interestingly, it has problems with canceling print jobs all of a sudden as well. If I click on my computer to cancel or stop, the printer just keeps going. What is happening??

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi,

What OS is installed in the computer that the printer is connected to?

Have you checked that you have the latest drivers for your printer particular to your OS? There may have been OS updates (especially if using Win 10) which may have caused the problem coincidentally at the time you changed the cartridge

This is a really great point. Windows 10, 64 bit, and I do believe it updated recently. I have tried reinstalling the driver. When I down load the one from epson's website, it runs processes for 5 seconds and says installed, but nothing changed. And when I try to uninstall the current driver, it opens up a window, but it mostly stays greyed out and nothing ever actually happens. I guess I need to press into this part of the issue more. Thanks!

Hi

Try disconnecting the printer from the pc (or just powering it off) and then going to Programs and Features and uninstalling the Epson software there.

https://files.support.epson.com/docid/cp...

The driver software on the Epson website is the same for Win 8 and Win 10

What happens if you uninstall the printer drivers and use the generic Win 10 drivers for your printer when you connect the printer, instead of loading the Epson drivers when asked? Does it work OK then?

You may not get all the features of the Epson software but it may be worth a try to see how it goes.
